Máire is a beloved and longtime member of the LMLT community, offering annual workshops and fostering connections among Clones lace makers.
A passionate advocate for this beautiful style of crocheted lace, she played a key role in reviving Clones Irish Crochet lace in the late 1980s and has been teaching and writing about it ever since.
She is the author of Clones Lace: The Story and Patterns of an Irish Crochet, originally published in 2010 by Lacis and now in its third edition, recently republished by The Lace Museum in Fremont.
Máire is working on her second book, exploring how Irish Crochet lace provided vital economic support to communities worldwide in the early 20th century and how it has experienced a remarkable resurgence in Eastern Europe and South America in the 21st century.
