Lacis Museum's permanent collection in Berkeley, California is home to thousands of precious works of textile art, but perhaps the most remarkable and splendid of them all are the hundreds of delicate Armenian needlelace circles.
    We're excited and proud to announce a forthcoming new exhibition of Armenian needlelace, opening upstairs on Friday, August 9, 2024.

Viewing is available through a tour, which can be scheduled by advance appointment only. Tours will begin after August 16 and are offered on Mondays, Fridays, and select Saturdays at 1:00 PM or 3:00 PM. Please contact us in advance to book your appointment.

In anticipation of the opening event, we'll be sharing a selection of pieces with you online. You'll marvel at their endless varied forms and uniquely delicate, complex beauty. Perhaps you'll even be inspired to learn to make it yourself! One way or another, we hope you'll join us in this journey.

April is a month of genocide remembrance for Armenians and millions of displaced and refugee families all around the world. The threads remain unbroken.
