Catherine is a retired Registered Nurse and a Master Beekeeper. She learned to crochet as a child from her father who was taught in the army as therapy for WWII injuries. She believes that hand-wrought items are beautiful and has made hundreds of these crocheted beaded bracelets. Currently, she sells them at a clothing store called Solano by Hand. According to her, these are the perfect spontaneous gift!

Onna Schwindt is a mixed media embroidery artist who creates art inspired by the organic patterns and sacred geometry surrounding us in daily life. Her work flows between the calm, meditative feeling of circular motifs and the unstructured freedom of intuitive expression.

In High School, DL made her first costume for the Northern California Renaissance Faire.  Not great, but it was so much fun that she made more, even for other participants.  Later, she realized she had a passion for the accessories. Forty-five years later, she expresses her passion for creating historically inspired accessories in her business.  Many of these creations, like chatelaines, are sold at the Great Dickens Christmas Faire.

Máire is a beloved and longtime member of the LMLT community, offering annual workshops and fostering connections among Clones lace makers. A passionate advocate for this beautiful style of crocheted lace, she played a key role in reviving Clones Irish Crochet lace in the late 1980s and has been teaching and writing about it ever since. She is the author of Clones Lace: The Story and Patterns of an Irish Crochet, originally published in 2010 by Lacis and now in its third edition, recently republished by The Lace Museum in Fremont. Máire is working on her second book, exploring how Irish Crochet lace provided vital economic support to communities worldwide in the early 20th century and how it has experienced a remarkable resurgence in Eastern Europe and South America in the 21st century.

Laura Tandeske learned to embroider at the early age of 5 years old. After being mostly self taught she wanted a more formal education in art and embroidery. She studied Fine Art at California State University East Bay, and embroidery with the Embroiderers Guild of America and San Francisco School of Needlework and Design. She has been teaching embroidery for 10 years at the San Francisco School of Needlework and Design and independently all over the Bay Area. Her piece called “Balance” toured the United States and Canada as part of the 2 year Sixteenth National Exhibit with the Embroiderers Guild of America. She has won numerous awards including “Best in Show” at the California State Fair in Sacramento.

Kevin is a freelance professional singer with Bay Area groups like Clerestory and Endersnight. He learned tatting to keep the tradition alive and as a viable activity that could be done while traveling.

Catherine Scholar discovered the joy of costuming at age five after reading Little House on the Prairie. She learned to sew at her mother’s knee and to embroider at her grandmother’s, skills that grew into the passion for historic costuming that she has pursued for thirty years. Catherine has taught numerous costuming workshops for the Greater Bay Area Costumers Guild (GBACG) and Costume College, and served on the board of the Greater Bay Area Costumers Guild (GBACG) for a decade as Newsletter Editor, Events Coordinator, and President.
