General Description:
We are pleased to announce the establishment of a similar group for bobbin lace makers. Lacis has always been a known as a place to find threads, patterns, books, bobbins, and all the little tools that keep lace-makers. Our bobbin lace classes with the charming and talented Maria Jose Munoz have produced lots of new bobbin lacers who are clamoring for lace-making camaraderie, and Maria has graciously agreed to host a monthly meeting, on the third Saturday of every month from 1 to 3 at the museum. Bobbin lace is a continual learning experience and a skill that takes lots of practice. Hopefully these monthly sessions will encourage the pursuit of one of the most beautiful of all lace techniques. Bring along your pillow, bobbins, and enthusiasm and join in the fun! The first meeting will take place on Saturday, June 21.

If you have never tried bobbin lace or if you are simply curious, do stop by and see what it's all about, and if interest persists you might consider signing up for one of Maria's classes.

Skill Level:
The group is open to anyone who wants to work bobbin lace. If you are a timid beginner, we will encourage you, if you are an accomplished lace artist, we will be very happy to learn from you, and no matter what your skill level, we will offer encouragement, appreciation, and companionship.

Materials List:
Bring along any project you want to work. If you need supplies, we'll be happy to offer advice, and the Museum shop carries of range of threads, bobbins, pins, pattern books, and accessories. Drop by and see our wonderful new German patterns from Verlag fuer die Frau.

Group leader and contact person:
